Madagascar Rainbow - Bedotia geayi All rainbowfish prefer to be in groups in long aquariums with a lot of swimming room and temperature around 80 degrees. A 36" long tank is bare minimum for the Madagascar Rainbows. These fish will reach a size of just under 4 inches. Planted tanks are preferable with very little to no driftwood in the habitat. Driftwood tends to soften and help to acidify the water, rainbows like water neutral to slightly alkaline, with a pH between 7.0 and 8.0. The great news is that the Grand Rapids metro tap water (and most surrounding wells) is the perfect pH for these beautiful fish!
